Administrative Computing is a division of the Computing & Communication Services, which is responsible for providing for all "business" information needs of the university required to support the operation of the institution.

Administrative Computing is formed from three support areas: systems and programming, computer operations, and network operations.

Systems and Programming provides custom programming, program revision, and system design/analysis for all administrative software used to support the various offices responsible for daily operations.

Computer Operations handles processing, reports, file and system backups, data entry and scanning, and coordination of activities necessary to schedule production on the campus's main administrative computing system.

Network Operations is responsible for support of network servers, PC's connected to the network, printers, network computers, palm pilot-type devices and other network devices, and network accessible software applications like e-mail, calendars, file sharing, terminal emulation, and other network applications.

Administrative Computing supports a vast set of custom programs that comprise a totally integrated set of administrative functions. These programs automate the collection, recording, reporting and manipulation of data and information for each function of the institution. They provide the cognizant office(s) all available information about a student from the first inquiry to graduation and beyond.

Faculty and staff are provided information about students to assist them with guidance concerning their field of study, course selection, financial aid, billing and scheduling, and various aspects of campus life. Additionally, information is available about campus events, faculty schedules, and contact information. Faculty can assist new freshman and transfers with scheduling and can enter course grades through a web interface.

Administrative offices, faculty, and support personnel are also served by network applications like Microsoft Office, e-mail, calendars, and other network applications to simplify and facilitate office functions. Access to the Internet is provided for research, access to technical information, and support. Additionally, Computing & Communication Services helps maintain the www.esu.edu website to provide other important information about the institution, academic programs, administrative offices, student affairs and activities, and campus events.
