This page is meant to provide prospective transfer students with information regarding housing options at East Stroudsburg University.
On-Campus Housing
ESU’s on-campus housing inventory includes five traditional residence halls, one apartment complex (University Apartments), and two brand-new suite style residence halls. Transfer students interested in on-campus housing must make an on-line application. Housing offers are made starting in early August, so please set up and check your ESU email and your ESU portal regularly for the information.
On-Campus housing rates vary depending on the style of housing. Actual rates and information regarding specific residence halls is available here.
For Fall 2013, on-campus housing will be guaranteed for the first 100 transfer students who make the on-line application and the $200.00 housing deposit. Beyond the first 100 spaces, housing will be offered on a first come-first served basis. The number of spaces that will become available over late spring and into summer cannot be predicted, so we therefore cannot make any guesses as to how many transfers can be accommodated for Fall.
For more information, please contact the Housing Office at (570) 422-3460.
University Ridge
University Ridge Apartments, located just northeast of the campus of East Stroudsburg University, is a student housing community built and designed with the convenience and comfort of the ESU student in mind. Our 541 ESU students enjoy scenic views in our picturesque complex looking over the Pocono Mountains.
We understand the demands of college. So, at University Ridge, one payment covers everything. Never worry about keeping up with the utility bills or even your internet or cable bills – it is all taken care of!
When you have to get to class you do not have to worry about hunting the parking lots for a space for hours on end, take the ESU shuttle which operates Monday through Friday for your convenience to get to and from class. If you are looking to take a walk or bike ride, the ESU walking path might be what you desire. It is a short walk to campus and the path is lit well and is patrolled by ESU PD.
When you are ready to relax, the game room, cardio center, big screen TV room, cyber lounge and entertainment pavilion are waiting to help you unwind.

Off-Campus Housing
A variety of other off-campus housing options are available, including rentals in the area. When local landlords advertise to us that they have apartments/homes/rooms to rent, we compile the information here.
Please note that ESU does not recommend or sanction any of these properties, but merely compiles the information for your perusal and decision making. Some rentals are very close, in the boroughs of East Stroudsburg and Stroudsburg for example, while others are further away. You may find additional rentals by checking our local newspaper, the Pocono Record.
Questions about off-campus housing may be directed to Tammy Baumgardner at (570) 422-3138.
