FAFSA is a government program to help students with the expenses of college. All students who plan to take advantage of the federal and state financial aid programs (including the Federal Direct Loan) must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Many scholarship programs also require you to complete the FAFSA.
Before you begin completing your on-line FAFSA application, apply for your Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) by going to www.studentloans.gov. If you are a dependent student, a parent must also apply for a FSA ID. You will need a FSA ID to electronically sign your FAFSA.
Complete the FAFSA online at www.studentloans.gov. To assist in the completion of your online FAFSA, a FAFSA on the Web work sheet is available for you to download from this site. If you are unable to file your FAFSA on-line you may download a PDF version of the application here: https://fafsa.ed.gov/options.htm to complete and mail in.
All applicable sections of the form should be completed as directed. Be sure to list East Stroudsburg University, FAFSA code #003320, as a recipient institution.
