The Office of Workforce Development (OWD) offers client companies resources for professional development and training services designed to facilitate and remediate workforce challenges in the area of recruitment, training and retention. East Stroudsburg University of PA (ESU) is one 39 Workforce & Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) Partners. WEDnet encourages Pennsylvania companies to invest in themselves by taking advantage of guaranteed free reimbursable job training. The Guaranteed Free Training program (GFT) provides opportunities for employers and employees to improve efficiency and competitiveness, explore new ways of conducting business, and introduce new advancements that will place them on the leading edge of technology.
ESU students value OWD for its internship/externship connections with client companies. Businesses benefit from the vastly diverse and talented student pool (representing 58 undergraduate and 22 graduate degrees) and students gain on the job, real world experience in fields that support and/or enhance their majors.
