About our Databases

Search EBSCO Discovery Service

Discovery Search, powered by EBSCO, allows you to search many of the library's resources using a single search box. The search includes all of our EBSCO databases, our catalog, and many of our other subscription databases like JSTOR, Lexis-Nexis and more. Your search results will include references to journal articles, print books and ebooks, media and government documents, all in one list. Result lists can be long so use the limiters to focus your search. Discovery Search is particularly helpful if you're not sure which specific subject database is most relevant for your search. You will still be able to search any of the individual databases from our A to Z Database List.

We're interested in gathering feedback on this service so that we can make it better for you. Please send comments to Leslie Berger lberger@esu.edu

To help you locate appropriate sources for your research needs, Kemp library has a wide collection of general and discipline specific databases. Most of our databases will help you find articles on your topic in journals, magazines or newspapers. Other sources such as dissertations, book chapters, statistical information and more may be included. In many instances you will be able to link to the full text of the information. When full text is not available you can click on the "Check availability" link to determine if the item is electronically available in a different database. You should also check our red list book to see if the library has a print subscription to the periodical you need. Almost all of our databases are accessible to you from off campus locations. Check our web page under Off Campus Access for more information on remote logon.
