The basic mission of every academic institution is to provide education to its students.
Based on the premise that "academics" are the core purpose of the university, East Stroudsburg University embarked on an "Integrated Strategic Planning" process, aligning the major university divisions in order to coordinate all efforts towards academic excellence and the best possible student learning experience.
This strategic planning process required that each university department, unit, or division establish its mission, assess its environment, recognize its own strengths and weaknesses, and develop department or unit level strategic goals.
This input from across campus served as the basis for our University-wide strategic plan which was implemented in the Fall of 2010 and extends to 2015.
