The Mekeel Child Care Center is available to ESU students, faculty/staff and community families. Children between the ages of 18 months and 5 years may attend Mekeel. Mekeel provides a safe and caring, child initiated environment that supports and stimulates each child's development and learning. Mekeel Child Care Center is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare, and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

Philosophy

At the Mekeel Child Care Center we believe that children learn best through play, exploration and self-discovery. Learning focuses on the whole child by encouraging their cognitive, social/emotional, and physical growth as well as their creative expression. The strong foundation that is laid here will nurture those qualities and support lifelong learners.

The Mekeel Child Care Center is open:

Monday–Friday: 7:45 AM – 5:00 PM

Enrollment

A $25.00 non refundable registration fee applies each year.
University students, faculty and staff have first priority registration
Classification for Enrollment

ESU student — enroll hourly with a minimum of (2) 3 hour blocks of time, by the semester
ESU Faculty/Staff — enroll half days, full days with a minimum of (2) half days, by the semester
Community member — enroll half days, full days with a minimum of (2) half days for the entire school year

Please enroll 6–8 months prior to needing care.

Faculty, Staff, & Community

$30.00/Half Day
$35.00/Full Day
$140.00/Week (Full–Time)

Toddler (Ages 18 Months–35 Months):

University Students

$5.00/Hour

Faculty, Staff, & Community

$35.00/Half Day
$45.00/Full Day
$170.00/Week (Full–Time)
