East Stroudsburg University Health Services is designated to provide health services and wellness education based upon a total wellness concept. We strive to provide individualized customer services to students seeking quality health care. The mission of Health Services is to empower the students of East Stroudsburg University to not only take control of their own health but also to adapt and maintain the healthiest lifestyle possible.
Most medical services provided by the University Health Services at the Flagler-Metzgar Health Center are covered under the General Fee. Fees for diagnostic testing including lab tests, x-rays, etc., and referrals to other health care providers are the responsibility of the student.
Services Available To All Commuter And On-Campus Students
- Medical evaluation/treatment by Registered Nurses and Licensed Physicians for illness, injuries, etc.
- Prescription and over-the-counter medications are available at no additional fee. Medications, which are not available at the Health Center, may be prescribed by our physician. The costs of these are the responsibility of the students. There are local pharmacies located within walking distance of the campus.
- Self-Care Center for those minor concerns that do not require a professional evaluation
- Allergy Injections (contact Health Services for more information)
- TB (tuberculin) skin tests
- Referral to off-campus health care specialists and facilities as well as ESU Support Services
- Gynecological Services
- Future physical examinations (for employment, drivers license, sports, etc.)
- Education and information about illnesses
- Health and Wellness programs and activities
- Resource Library on a variety of health/wellness topics
