As students return to East Stroudsburg University, the concern for the re-appearance of the novel H1N1 flu virus (previously called swine flu) in the college community is high on the agenda of University officials.

ESU is preparing for the highly contagious flu -- if and when it arrives. Part of that preparation involves the entire university community, students, parents, faculty, staff and visitors.

Minimizing the spread of this highly contagious disease is a significant concern for health officials.

The guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for anyone with flu-like symptoms is to self-isolate -- that means not attending classes and going home, not coming to work and not gathering in public spaces or for group activities.

Anyone needing additional facts and background information on H1N1, such as symptoms of the flu, should go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) or H1N1inPA websites.
