I have worked in the field of Student Affairs in Higher Education for over 30 years, many of them at ESU. My area of expertise and my heart is in the area of residence hall work. Consequently, I have had the pleasure of meeting many very special young men and women during my tenure in this field.

I am invited to countless weddings and frequently receive birth announcements, notes and Holiday cards from former students. Some of the students who have worked in Residence Life or been active in the hall councils as undergraduates have gone on and earned degrees in Student Personnel and are now working in the field on various campuses throughout the country.

I attended the State University of New York at Albany in the late sixties and early seventies completing both a BA and MS degree. My undergraduate major was in Sociology, with minors in English and History.

My graduate degree was in Counseling and Student Personnel Services. While in college I was very active on campus, serving on the Programming Board, the Judicial Board, as a class officer and as a Resident Advisor. Because I had such a positive college experience I think that, on some level, I wanted to extend it by going into higher education administration for my career.

I am active on campus and in the surrounding community on various committees and boards of directors, primarily for human service, non-profit agencies.

I have been married for 33 years to my childhood sweetheart. My wife, Kathy, is a local elementary school teacher, teaching fourth grade at Pocono Elementary Center. We have two sons, Jeff and Chris, both of whom graduated from the Pennsylvania State University and are living and working in the Atlanta area. I have gotten to love that city and try to visit there two or three times a year.
