My name is Kelly Weaber Heagele, Coordinator of Staff Selection and Assessment. I am thrilled you are interested in learning more about the Resident Advisor (RA) position. The RA role is one of the most challenging and rewarding student leadership positions available on campus. Our RAs make a significant impact on the lives of the students living in the halls. RAs create a community on their floors, which offer a variety of programs to help students learn about themselves and others. RAs encourage students to make good choices, experience diversity first hand and grow from challenges.
Many employers recognize the RA position on resumes and have a vast understanding of the demands placed on students in this position. It is not uncommon for graduates to report that the training and experiences they received as RAs have been crucial to their career success.
I encourage you to carefully review the Resident Advisor Job Description, Discussion Questions and the RA Quiz before applying for the resident advisor position. If you have any questions about the position or selection process, please do not hesitate to contact meat 570-422-3583 or kelly.weaber@po-box.esu.edu.
