Caps & Gowns
Undergraduates
Caps and gowns will be available for purchase approximately four weeks prior to graduation in the University Bookstore, located in the University Center on Normal Street. Caps and gowns are also available on the morning of Commencement, prior to the ceremony, when the University Store opens at 9:00 AM.
All graduates participating in ESU's Commencement Ceremony must arrive with full academic attire: cap, tassel, gown, medallion and honor cords (if applicable). Only honor cords and academic medals that are officially issued by the university are permissible. Please do not bring any personal items with you. There is no secure area to hold belongings.
Graduates
Students earning a master or doctoral degree should order their cap/gown/hood from the University Bookstore by March 1 for spring graduation or October 1 for fall graduation. Orders must be placed In person. Contact the bookstore at 570 422-3454 for more information.
Due to the codified color of the hoods associated with the different disciplines, no master or doctoral student may participate in the ceremony without the proper regalia.
