Community & Volunteer Services Organization Advisement
A community service clearinghouse offers students, faculty and staff access to many service opportunities throughout the Stroudsburg/East Stroudsburg and Monroe County areas. The Clearinghouse lists the names and contact numbers of appropriate parties at each of the offered organization. The interests and skills of the individual wishing to volunteer are matched with the needs of the community service agencies. Through this service, the office can link individuals and campus organizations with one-time service projects or weekly ongoing commitments. Being aware of the time demands of university students, faculty and staff, the office strives to accommodate these special constraints. Creating the best fit for both the agency and the volunteer is a priority. The office also seeks to get feedback from both the volunteer and the agency on their service experiences. This information helps to create an even better volunteer/agency fit in the future. A monthly newsletter and bulletin board in the University Center provide regular updates on available volunteer/service activities. For more information on volunteer activities contact Todd Benson at (570) 422–3105.
