INDIANA - Dawn Peipher became the first women's volleyball player to reach 2,000 digs as the East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball team competed at a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division crossover at IUP.

The Warriors lost to IUP, California and Slippery Rock, all by scores of 3-0.

Peipher earned her historic dig in the IUP match on Friday night. IUP won by scores of 30-25, 30-25, 30-22 but Peipher ended up with 29 digs on the match to go over 2,000 for her career. She is the 16th player in NCAA Division II history to reach the milestone. Other marks for the match included Caitlin Kuhn and Jen Mills adding seven and nine kills while Abigail Heberlig contributed eight digs in the match.

On Saturday, ESU dropped matches to California (30-24, 30-23, 30-22 and Slippery Rock (30-16, 30-26, 30-25).

Against California, Kuhn had nine kills, Mills had seven, Heberlig had three aces, and Peipher contributed 20 digs. Liz Johnson had 30 assists in the two matches.

ESU is 10-4 and will host Kutztown Tuesday at 7 p.m. in a PSAC Eastern Division match.
