PHILADELPHIA – Sophomore Amanda Kaufman won 7-5, 6-0 at first singles and juniors Katie D’Ambrosia and Jamie Ferrigno won their 30th career match as a doubles team to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 9-0 win in women’s tennis at the University of the Sciences on Sunday afternoon.
D’Ambrosia and Ferrigno, an All-PSAC doubles team during their first two years at ESU, improved to 30-17 overall and 4-2 this season with an 8-3 win over Sara Durham and Zahra Hasan.
D’Ambrosia won her 27th career singles match, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2, and Ferrigno ran her career singles record to 34-11 with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3.
The Warriors also received doubles wins from Kaufman and senior Marissa Tanner, who won 8-3 at No. 2, and Amy McGrath and Alex Santoro, who posted an 8-2 win at No. 3.
Santoro won her No. 4 singles match 8-3, Tanner went to 9-7 before winning at No. 5 and McGrath finished her day with an 8-0 win in the final singles spot.
The Warriors continue their action this fall at Moravian on Thursday afternoon.
