EAST STROUDSBURG - Freshman Katie D'Ambrosia has been named the PSAC East Women's Tennis Athlete of the Week after going undefeated in six matches and helping East Stroudsburg University to a 3-0 record last week.

D'Ambrosia (Broomall/Marple-Newtown) went 3-0 at both No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles for the Warriors. In singles, she posted singles victories over Cheyney (6-0, 6-0), West Chester (6-3, 6-3) and Scranton (6-4, 6-3).

In doubles, D'Ambrosia partnered with senior Mandie Rutt to win 8-0 at Cheyney and 8-6 at Scranton, and won 8-3 with freshman Jamie Ferrigno against West Chester. D'Ambrosia and Ferrigno won two matches to advance to the semifinals at the PSAC championships in the fall.

D'Ambrosia owns an 11-8 singles mark this season, mostly at No. 2, and a 15-8 record in doubles play as a freshman.
