EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Sarah Roscioli is the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after setting a school record in the pool for the Warriors on Saturday.

Roscioli (Easton/Wilson) broke the three-decade old record in the 50 breast stroke and won three individual events and two relays to lead ESU to dual victories over Millersville and Ramapo.

She clocked a time of 31.81 seconds in the 50 breast to break the previous mark of 32.0 seconds set by two Hall of Fame swimmers in the 1970s. Mary (Pakenas) Gardner, the Athletic Director at Bloomsburg University, set the original mark in 1972, and Cathy (Crigler) Sheaffer tied the record in 1978.

Roscioli also won the 100 breast in 1:09.75 and was second in the 50 fly while anchoring the first-place 200 medley relay team in ESU's win over Millersville on Saturday. She won the 100 fly in 1:04.62 and swam on the winning 200 medley relay team in her only two events at Ramapo on Sunday.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
