EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Christine Swiker has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University for her record-setting performance in the 400 IM on Saturday at the Camel Invitational at Connecticut College.

Swiker (Philadelphia/Archbishop Ryan) shaved almost two seconds off the record that she set at the same event last year, lowering her time to 4:44.95 from 4:46.60. She won the 200 and 400 IM, finished second in the 50 fly and third in the 100 fly. Her time of 2:13.88 in the 200 IM was just over a half-second off the school record.

She also swam on the second-place 400 medley relay, along with freshman Lindsay DuAime, sophomore Sarah Roscioli and senior Sally Kaminski, and the fourth-place 800 free relay team.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
