EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Debbie Ritter, sophomore Christine Swiker and freshman Sarah Roscioli will compete for East Stroudsburg University at the 2008 PSAC Swimming Championships, which begin Thursday at Cumberland Valley High School.
Swiker and Roscioli have both set school records for the Warriors this year and are seeded in the top 10 in their events. The top 16 finishers score in each event, with the top three earning All-PSAC honors.
Swiker is seeded sixth in the 400 IM and set the school record of 4:46.60 at the Camel Invitational at Connecticut College in December.
She had her best time of the year (2:15.41) in the 200 IM at the same meet and is seeded 12th, and is also entered in the 200 fly.
Roscioli broke the school record in the 100 breast with a time of 1:08.32 on Feb. 2 at the ESU Invite and is seeded ninth. She has also reached qualifying times in the 50 free (25.08) and 100 free (55.20) this season.
Ritter qualified in the 200 back, where she is seeded 16th with a time of 2:16.29, and will swim the 100 back and the 500 free.
Senior Shannon LeBlanc and freshmen Morgan Cozze, Megan Lopretto, Amy Rowland and Heather Van O'Linda will compete for the Warriors in the relays.
The championships will start with the 1,000 free on Thursday night and resume Friday morning at 10 a.m. with preliminary events. The finals will be held on Friday and Saturday at 6 p.m., and on Sunday beginning at 5 p.m.
