EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University softball standouts Ashley Miller and Jennifer Veronesi have been named to the 2006 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division II All-Region Team.

Miller was a first-team selection in the outfield while Veronesi was the shortstop on the second team. To be eligible for All-America honors, players must be on the All-Region Team.

Miller, the lone senior on a team that advanced to NCAA Regionals, was the Warriors' leading hitter. She hit .381 and set a new school record with 67 hits. She doubled 12 times, tripled once and hit three home runs. She also knocked in 26 runs and stole 13 bases in 15 attempts. Miller was a first-team All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection as a sophomore and junior and was chosen to the second team as a freshman and a senior. She was also named to the Mid-Atlantic Regional All-Tournament team.

Veronesi, a junior, was second on the team with a .351 batting average. Like Miller, she started all 54 games. She set new school records for home runs (nine) and stolen bases (21 in 24 attempts) and had 66 hits. She doubled 11 times, tripled four times and knocked in a team-high 32 runs. Veronesi was the second-team shortstop on the All-PSAC team.
