EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University freshman Brittany Racek has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region second team as a designated player.

Racek (Philadelphia/Little Flower), who hit .317 in her first season at ESU, is the third freshman to earn All-Region honors for the Warriors. Erika Lee was the first team catcher and Casey Dixon was the second team designated player in 2000.

Racek was the only ESU player to appear in all 48 games this season. She led the team in hits (44), runs (26), doubles (9), and stolen bases (8) and had a .399 on-base percentage while driving in 15 runs.

She filled the leadoff or second spot in the order in all but one of her 47 starts, with 30 coming as the designated player and 17 at second base.

Racek maintained a .300 batting average over the final six weeks of the season and hit .319 against PSAC competition to help the Warriors to their second straight appearance in the conference tournament, where she had a hit in all three games.
