LOCK HAVEN - Ashley Lynn threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Bloomsburg eliminated East Stroudsburg University from the PSAC softball tournament with a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon at Lock Haven.

Senior Kristen Halvorsen went the distance in the circle for ESU, allowing just four hits, but the Huskies managed a run in the fifth inning when pinch runner Casey Massimini scored from second base on a two-out infield single by Tara Reed.

Senior 1B Ali Hale singled to lead off the top of the seventh for the Warriors and was replaced by pinch runner Alicea Ashe, who moved to second on a passed ball. Ashe advanced to third when senior 3B Candice Pastor grounded out to the pitcher, but was caught off third base on a squeeze bunt attempt and Lynn got a strikeout to end the game.

Halvorsen ends her career with school records for games pitched (119), games started (101) and innings pitched (598.1). She is tied for first with 15 shutouts and ranks second in school history with 42 wins.

ESU was making its second straight appearance in the PSAC tournament and the fourth in school history. The Warriors blanked California 9-0 in five innings before falling 3-0 to Kutztown on Thursday.
