LOCK HAVEN - Kristin Erb threw a four-hit shutout in the first game and combined with Julia Popovich on a two-hit shutout in the nightcap as No. 4 Lock Haven swept a doubleheader against East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday.

The Bald Eagles (19-5) won the opener 4-0 on the strength of four first inning runs and the arm of Erb, who struck out six and didn't issue a walk in the complete game victory.

In the second game, Lock Haven put up four runs in the third inning to break a scoreless tie and added two more in the fourth to win 6-0. Erb allowed one hit in five innings before giving way to Popovich, who threw two scoreless innings.

Sophomore Briana Malachowski and freshman Brittany Racek both had 2-for-3 days at the plate, Malachowski in the first game and Racek in the second.

ESU will open PSAC East action on Friday with a doubleheader at Shippensburg, followed by a trip to Bloomsburg on Saturday.
