EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg University softball program has qualified for the PSAC tournament for the second straight year after finishing third in the PSAC East with an 11-13 conference record.

The Warriors swept Mansfield in a doubleheader on Friday to put themselves in position to claim a spot in the conference tournament. Mansfield beat Shippensburg (10-14) once on Saturday and Kutztown beat West Chester (10-14) in both ends of a doubleheader to extend ESU's season next weekend at Lock Haven.

ESU (17-28 overall) went 1-2 in the PSAC tournament last year in its first appearance since 1981. The Warriors won the only PSAC softball championship in school history in 1980.

Kutztown (44-10, 21-3) and Bloomsburg (44-7, 19-5) secured the top two seeds in the PSAC East. Lock Haven, the tournament host, is the top seed in the West, followed by IUP and California.

The tournament gets underway on Thursday, with the championship game scheduled for Saturday. The full schedule will be announced on Monday.
