EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Kristen Halvorsen earned the PSAC East Softball Pitcher of the Week award after winning all three of her starts last week for East Stroudsburg University.

Halvorsen (Cornwall, N.Y./Cornwall Central) dealt PSAC East leader Kutztown its first loss of the season with a 6-2 win on Wednesday. She also posted a 4-1, 9 inning victory at Mansfield on Saturday and a 2-1 win at West Chester on Sunday.

Halvorsen threw 25.0 innings during the week and allowed 20 hits while striking out 10 batters. She will also break the school record for games pitched on Tuesday at Millersville, and ranks third in career strikeouts (334) and fourth in wins (36).

ESU (10-19, 4-6) went 4-2 last week to stay in the hunt for a PSAC tournament berth heading into the final doubleheader of the first half on Tuesday afternoon.
