EAST STROUDSBURG - Kristen Halvorsen, the Female Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year at East Stroudsburg University, has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II softball team, it was announced Thursday.

EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University freshman Brittany Racek has been named to the Louisville Slugger/NFCA Mid-Atlantic All-Region second team as a designated player.

Three Warriors Named to All-PSAC East Softball Squad

EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior catcher Amanda Feist was named to the first team and seniors Kristen Halvorsen and Candice Pastor were second team selections to give East Stroudsburg University three players on the All-PSAC East softball team, the conference announced Wednesday.

LOCK HAVEN - Ashley Lynn threw a three-hitter with 11 strikeouts as Bloomsburg eliminated East Stroudsburg University from the PSAC softball tournament with a 1-0 win on Friday afternoon at Lock Haven.

LOCK HAVEN - Steph Denlinger and Ashley Fitzgerald hit back-to-back home runs in the first inning and Kaitlin Arbogast threw a four-hitter as Kutztown defeated East Stroudsburg University 3-0 in the Warriors' second game of the PSAC softball tournament on Thursday.

Softball Beats California 9-0 (5 inn.) in PSAC Tournament Opener

LOCK HAVEN - Senior Kristen Halvorsen fired a one-hitter to tie East Stroudsburg University's career shutout record as the Warriors beat California 9-0 in five innings in the first game of the PSAC softball tournament on Thursday morning at Lock Haven. ESU plays Kutztown this afternoon at 2:30 p.m.

Warriors Softball Pounds Mansfield 10-1, 8-0 on Senior Day

EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Kristen Halvorsen threw a pair of complete games, including her 14th career shutout, and East Stroudsburg University stayed alive in the race for the final playoff spot in the PSAC East by torching Mansfield pitching for 18 runs (10-1, 8-0) in a doubleheader sweep on Friday at Zimbar Field.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior pitcher Kristen Halvorsen has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after posting a 3-2 record with a one-hit shutout in five starts for the Warriors' softball team last week.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior catcher Amanda Feist belted two home runs in the doubleheader and freshman LF Jamie Mingis was 3-for-4 with four RBI in the second game as East Stroudsburg University and Millersville split a pair of PSAC East games on Tuesday afternoon.

EAST STROUDSBURG - PSAC East leader Kutztown pounded out 27 hits over two games to take both ends of a softball doubleheader (10-1, 6-2) from East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at Zimbar Field.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Michelle Meyers hit a solo home run, the first of her career, in the bottom of the eighth inning to give East Stroudsburg University a 2-1 win over Bloomsburg in the first game of a PSAC softball doubleheader on Wednesday afternoon at Zimbar Field.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Dani Shields won a 1-0 pitchers duel with Kristen Halvorsen in the first game, and Shippensburg used a four-run fifth inning to break a 1-1 tie for a 5-1 win in the nightcap to take a PSAC East doubleheader from East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at Zimbar Field.

EAST STROUDSBURG - Seton Hill won two one-run games, 6-5 in eight innings and 3-2, in a non-conference softball doubleheader at East Stroudsburg University on Thursday.

East Stroudsburg University's softball doubleheader at IUP scheduled for April 14 has been canceled due to previous scheduling conflicts. The Warriors host Seton Hill on Thursday at Zimbar Field and Shippensburg on Saturday in PSAC East play.

MILLERSVILLE - Senior Kristen Halvorsen tossed a two-hit, 1-0 shutout for East Stroudsburg University in the first game, while Millersville posted a 4-1 victory in the second game of a PSAC East softball doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon.

WEST CHESTER - East Stroudsburg University scored two runs in the fifth inning for a come-from-behind 2-1 win in the opener, but saw a five-run rally over the final two frames fall short in an 8-7 loss in the second game of a PSAC East softball doubleheader at West Chester on Sunday.

MANSFIELD - Freshman Brittany Racek hit the go-ahead homer in the top of the ninth of a 4-1 win in the opener and sophomore Jackie Battaglino tossed a 2-0 shutout in the nightcap as East Stroudsburg University swept a PSAC East softball doubleheader at Mansfield on Saturday.

BLOOMSBURG - Bloomsburg improved to 21-2 on the season with two wins over East Stroudsburg University to kick off the PSAC East softball schedule on Saturday afternoon.

ESU Baseball, Softball Games Postponed to Sunday

East Stroudsburg University's PSAC East baseball and softball openers have been postponed to Sunday due to significant anticipated rainfall on Friday. The baseball team will host Mansfield on Saturday at 1 p.m. before making the trip to the Northern Tier on Sunday, while the softball team will travel to Bloomsburg for its conference opener on Saturday and will play at Shippensburg on Sunday.

No. 4 Lock Haven Takes Two from ESU Softball

LOCK HAVEN - Kristin Erb threw a four-hit shutout in the first game and combined with Julia Popovich on a two-hit shutout in the nightcap as No. 4 Lock Haven swept a doubleheader against East Stroudsburg University on Wednesday.

ESU Softball Games Rescheduled

ESU's home softball opener scheduled for Monday vs. Holy Family has been postponed. A make-up date will be announced as soon as it is available. The Warriors will return to action on Wednesday with a doubleheader at Lock Haven before starting their PSAC East schedule on Friday at Shippensburg, which was originally scheduled to be played at Zimbar Field. ESU will host Shippensburg on Saturday, April 12.

Warriors Softball Pounds Columbia Union, 16-0 and 9-3

TAKOMA PARK, Md. - East Stroudsburg University hit three home runs in a 16-0 win in the first game and won game two 9-3 to sweep a non-conference softball doubleheader at Columbia Union on Tuesday.

Warriors Conclude Softball Trip to Rebel Spring Games

OSCEOLA, Fla. - East Stroudsburg University closed its appearance at the Rebel Spring Games with a pair of losses on Friday, 1-0 vs. Ashland (Ohio) and 6-2 to Caldwell College (N.J.). Senior pitcher Kristen Halvorsen allowed only an unearned run in the fifth inning and struck out five, but Ashland held the Warriors scoreless for their third one-run loss of the week. Sophomore Brianna Malachowski was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the second game.

ESU Softball Beats St. Xavier 8-4, Falls 3-1 to Minnesota-Duluth

OSCEOLA, Fla. - Sophomore Kara Darcey hit a three-run home run and freshman Brittany Racek also drove in three runs to lead East Stroudsburg University to an 8-4 win over St. Xavier (Ill.) on Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games. Minnesota-Duluth beat the Warriors 3-1 in their second game Thursday night.

Warriors Softball Begins Spring Swing to Central Florida

OSCEOLA, Fla. - East Stroudsburg University's softball team fell to 0-6 on its spring break trip to the Rebel Spring Games with two losses on Tuesday, 6-0 to Southern Indiana and 4-3 to Southwest Minnesota State. Freshman outfielder Jamie Mingis has led the offense, going 8-for-19 (.421), including a 4-for-4 day at the plate against C.W. Post.

CATAWBA, N.C. - Junior catcher Amanda Feist hit her third home run of the young season, but East Stroudsburg University ended its season-opening trip to North Carolina with a 3-2 extra-inning loss to Lincoln Memorial (Tenn.) on Sunday morning.

CATAWBA, N.C. - Senior Kristen Halvorsen threw a complete game and junior catcher Amanda Feist hit the game-winning home run in the fifth inning to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 4-3 win over Indianapolis in the softball season opener on Friday in North Carolina.

ESU Softball Enters 2008 Following Record-Setting 2007 Campaign

The Warriors enter the 2008 softball season looking to return to the heights that they reached last year, when they finished third in the NCAA Division II Mid-Atlantic Regional, went to the PSAC tournament for the first time in 26 years, and set the school record with 29 wins. Second-year head coach Jill Fuduric returns six starters and pitcher Kristen Halvorsen, who is one of seven seniors on this year's team.
