EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior midfielder Janel Cleffi is the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after helping the Warriors to the first NCAA women's soccer playoff victory in school history last weekend.

Cleffi (Succasanna, N.J./Roxbury) assisted on the game's first goal by freshman Megan Keiser in the first half and led the defensive effort in the center of the midfield in a 4-0 shutout of West Virginia Wesleyan on Friday.

She scored her third goal of the season and the 15th of her career in the second half on Sunday as the Warriors fell 3-2 to West Chester in the second round, ending their season with a 12-6-4 record and a second straight appearance in the PSAC semifinals.

Cleffi started 78 games in her career at ESU and is one of six players in school history to earn three All-PSAC selections in women's soccer. She was first team All-PSAC East and second team All-Region each of the last two years and finished her career with 15 goals and 13 assists.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
