EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team won for the eighth time in its last 10 matches with a 1-0 shutout of Millersville on Monday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.

Junior forward Tara Takac scored the only goal of the game 12:34 into the second half, her third straight game with a goal and her seventh goal of the season.

Junior goalkeeper Janine Turcio made five saves for her third shutout of the season, and improved to 9-1-1 as a starter. Karrine Riggins made 11 saves in goal for Millersville.

ESU improved to 7-2-1 in the PSAC East and strengthened its hold on second place in the conference standings. The Warriors entered the night four points behind West Chester (7-1-2), have won five straight games by a combined score of 18-1, and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 contests.

ESU will host Mansfield on Saturday at 2 p.m. at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
