EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University women's soccer coach Rob Berkowitz is proud to announce the signing of six student-athletes to National Letters of Intent - Eileen Boneck, Elva Davidsdottir Composto, Linda Martine, Devon Miniscalco, Sarah Rothrock and Amanda Willke. Also joining the Warriors next year will be Jessica Youmans.

Berkowitz's first recruiting class at ESU will join a team that went 12-7-1 and advanced to the semifinals of the PSAC Tournament last season. Berkowitz was named the PSAC East Coach of the Year in his first season with the Warriors, and senior back Brittany Staub was the PSAC East Player of the Year.

Boneck is a native of Radnor, Pa. and played at Archbishop Carroll High School and for the PSC Coppa Crunch club team. The senior stopper and co-captain tallied 12 goals in 20 games and was named the MVP of the Catholic League Southern Division, first team All-Catholic League and first team All-Delco during her senior campaign. A four-year starter for her high school, she was voted three times to the All-Catholic League and All-Delco teams.

Composto is a Pocono Mountain West product who originally hails from Iceland. She has participated in the Eastern Pennsylvania Olympic Development Program and played on the Select team. She is also a member of the U-17 Icelandic National Pool and plays for AC Perugia USA, which competes in the PAGS Premier League.

Martine, a native of Hazleton, Pa., is one out of only two students in her high school who was permitted to participate in two sports in one season and was a four-year letterwinner in both soccer and track & field. She was voted first team all-division in soccer and qualified for districts in the 100m, 200m and 400m each year for her track team. She plays her club soccer for NU United.

Miniscalco, who hails from Churchville, Pa., is an Honor Roll student at Council Rock South and played on two District 1 championship teams. She was a member of the Suburban One All-League Team, a two-time member of the Bucks County Courier Times Team, the Suburban One Rookie of the Year, and was team captain and twice voted Offensive MVP at Council Rock South. She also played for the PSC Coppa Crunch, which won the 2008 EPYSA indoor state cup championship, She was also Suburban One honorable mention in cross country.

Rothrock, a Stroudsburg native, was a three-year co-captain at Stroudsburg High School and also earned MVP and Players Player honors. She has played with the A.C. Perugia and Stroudsburg United Soccer Clubs and was a three-time first team Mountain Valley Conference selection at defender. The Pocono Record has also recognized Rothrock on its All-Area girls soccer team in each of the last three years.

Willke, a Texas native who now plays soccer at Nazareth High School, was part of the 2006 state regional finalist in class 5A in the Texas high school playoffs. She continued her soccer career in Pennsylvania with the FC Delco Lightning and FC Delco Fury II Club teams during the last three years. An Honor Roll student, she also played for the U17 PAE state cup champions and Region 1 finalists. While in Texas, Willke played her club soccer for FC Texas 90 Blue, the North Texas state cup semifinalists.

Youmans hails from Waldwick, N.J., where she will be a 12-time letterwinner, with four each in soccer, indoor and outdoor track. She was a New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association All-State selection in each of the last three seasons, and was first team All-Bergen Passaic Scholastic League (B-PSL) in 2007 and a member of the second team in 2005 and 2006. She helped her team to the New Jersey state quarterfinals in 2006 and the semifinals last season, and plays her club soccer for the TSF Academy Tornadoes.

ESU kicks off the 2008 season with a trip to Concord College (W.V.) to play Northern Kentucky and Concord on August 28-29. The Warriors' home opener will be September 13 against defending PSAC champion West Chester.
