EAST STROUDSBURG - Sophomore Renee Maniscalco and senior Julie Smith were chosen to the All Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Lacrosse first team, it was announced Tuesday. In addition, sophomore Katie Fretz was named to the second-team.

Voting for the All-PSAC teams is done by league coaches.

Smith (Unityville/Hughesville) was chosen as the first-team goal keeper. She played every minute of all 14 games and made 268 saves while facing 340 shots. She had eight games of 20-plus saves and a save percentage of .563. She was on the second team last year.

Maniscalco (Collegeville/Springford) was chosen to the first-team defense. She scored 18 goals, second on the team and had a team-best seven assists. She finished the season with 25 points, second on the team.

Fretz (Parkerford/Own J. Roberts) led the team with 29 goals and was seventh in the PSAC with 2.58 goals per game. Fretz also had five assists and led the team with 34 points. This is her first postseason honor.

ESU and first-year coach Lynne Nester finished the season 2-12. The Warriors will graduate just three seniors.
