Lynne Elphick, the 2008 PSAC Coach of the Year, enters her fourth season as the head coach of the East Stroudsburg University women's lacrosse program.
Elphick guided the Warriors to an 11-7 record last spring, an eight-win improvement over the previous year, and their second PSAC Tournament appearance in her four years at ESU.
She coached four All-PSAC players - Christine Bradley, Janelle Cronmiller, Katie Fretz and Renee Maniscalco - during the 2007 season.
A 2003 graduate of ESU, Elphick was a four-year player on the lacrosse team and earned her degree in communications with a minor in English.
She returned to ESU after coaching for two years at Alvernia College in Reading, Pa. She led Alvernia to six wins and a 5-5 record in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference in her first season as a head coach. She was also an assistant coach for one year.
At Alvernia, Elphick was also the CHAMPS/Life Skills Coordinator and worked with student-athletes on a number of projects while also arranging speakers.
Elphick is originally from South Conventry Township, Pa. and is a graduate of Owen J. Roberts High School, where she was a four-year starter in lacrosse.
Lynne and her husband Chris were married in November 2007 and reside in Allentown with their newborn daughter, Ava, their black pitbull, Chaz, and two cats, Sweety and Lucky.
