EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior Ashley Kocis set the school career goals record as East Stroudsburg University beat Slippery Rock, 6-0, Sunday in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey at Whitenight Field.
Kocis scored her seventh goal in the last three games and now has 47 career goals, passing Karen Moliver who had 46 from 1985-87. Kocis has 20 goals on the season, tied for second-best all-time with Jane Moffett. Ann Marie Dellibovi has the school-record with 22 goals during the 1990 season.
Kocis set the record just 1:18 into the game when she converted a Sarah Cordora pass for an early 1-0 lead. Five different players scored for the Warriors who improved to 6-3 in the PSAC.
April Sutton had a pair of goals, Jacqui Domzalski had three assists and Cordora had a goal and assist to lead ESU in front of a large crowd during alumni day.
ESU scored all six of its goals in the first half and held Slippery Rock without a shot on goal.
