KUTZTOWN - Senior Ashley Kocis (Buckingham/Central Bucks East) scored three goals and junior Sarah Cordora (Swoyersville/Wyoming Valley West) set the school season assist record as the East Stroudsburg University field hockey team concluded its season with a 3-2 victory over Kutztown, Thursday in a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference match.
Kocis has 29 goals this season, a new school record while Cordora has 14 assists on the season, breaking the record of 13 held by Wendy Newcomb in 1990.
The Warriors concluded their season with a 13-7 overall record and a 7-7 mark in the PSAC.
Kocis scored her fourth hat trick of the season and second in as many games. She scored her first goal with less than four minutes remaining in the first half off of a Domineque Scott assist. She made it a 2-0 game with five seconds left in the first half when she knocked in a Cordora pass.
Kocis increased the lead to 3-0 when she knocked in a rebound five minutes into the second half.
Kutztown scored two second half goals but could get no closer and ends its season 10-10, 5-9.
ESU keeper Miranda Fountain made five saves in the first half while Crystal Condran made seven in the second half.
