EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University's Jen Hyman and Adele Mauck have been named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey second team all-stars, it was announced by the conference Wednesday.

Hyman (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata) earned honors as a midfielder while Mauck (Littlestown, Pa./Littlestown) was named as a back. It is the first post-season honor for both players.

Hyman, a junior, scored once and had three assists while leading the team in minutes played. She scored her goal in a win over Philadelphia and had assists against Bloomsburg, Millersville and Slippery Rock.

"Jen has been our most consistent player this season," ESU field hockey coach Sandy Miller said. "She is a great athlete who really stepped up her play this year. She has a high level of endurance, excellent ball control and a never-give-up attitude."

Mauck, a senior tri-captain, was the leader of a defense that allowed just 29 goals this season.

"Adele is a tenacious competitor who a lot of times shut out our opponent's top scorers," Miller said. "She had a real solid year for us and was a leader by example."

ESU recently completed its 18th consecutive non-losing season with an 11-8 mark.
