Box Score

EAST STROUDSBURG – Maggie Bloskey found the cage 2:17 into the game and No. 1 Bloomsburg scored two goals in each half for a 4-0 win over No. 3 East Stroudsburg University in PSAC East field hockey on Friday afternoon at Whitenight Field.

Amanda Riley, a national player of the year candidate, Chelsea Due and Erin Hench all had a goal and an assist for the Huskies. Caitlin Koczynski made six saves and Bloomsburg (15-1, 6-1) held a 17-9 advantage in shots.

Sophomore goalkeeper Maureen Ordnung had nine saves for the Warriors (12-5), who finished their PSAC East schedule with a 5-3 record. ESU was looking for its first PSAC playoff appearance since 2002 but will miss the postseason unless Kutztown (10-6, 3-3) falls to either Millersville or C.W. Post in its final two conference games. KU holds the tiebreaker over ESU with a 2-1 win over Bloomsburg in early September.

Bloskey opened the scoring early in the game on a penalty corner assisted by Chelsea Due and Aime Sgarlat. Riley made the score 2-0 with 6:52 left in the first half on an assist from Breanne Tobin, and Bloomsburg scored two goals in the final seven minutes. Riley has 18 goals and five assists this season.

ESU is back in action on Sunday with a 12 p.m. start vs. Slippery Rock, and will play its final three home games over the next week.
