ERIE - Freshman Caitlin Brownley scored her first career goal and classmate Brittany Kocis also scored to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 2-1 win at Mercyhurst in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon.

Brownley scored 12:45 into the game on an assist from senior Sarah Cordora for ESU (5-7), and Kocis converted on a penalty corner off an assist from senior Domineque Scott to give the Warriors a 2-0 lead five minutes into the second half.

Haley Brochu scored for Mercyhurst (3-9) with 22 minutes left but ESU held on to win for the second time in its last six contests.

ESU will travel to Shippensburg for a 4 p.m. start on Wednesday. The Warriors are 2-6 in the PSAC, including a 2-0 win over then-No. 2 Shippensburg on Sept. 8.
