Box Score

WEST CHESTER - Dana Weems scored 15 of her 22 points in the second half and helped West Chester clinch the No. 1 seed in the PSAC East with a 78-58 win over visiting East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon at Hollinger Field House.

Senior forward Jackie Yandrisevits had 20 points and six rebounds and senior guard Keri Cahill had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals to lead ESU, which ends the year at 12-15 (5-9 PSAC East). Junior forward DeAnna Rayam scored 13 points to join the seniors in double figures, and freshman forward Becky Hayter had four points and a season-high seven rebounds.

Yandrisevits finishes her career as the all-time leading scorer in ESU history with 1,784 points, and her 544 points in 2008-09 are fourth-most in a single season. Her scoring average of 20.1 points per game is second at ESU in the last 48 years.

Cahill scored a dozen points for the second straight game and averaged 10.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists over the final four games of her career. She entered the game ranked fourth in the PSAC with 4.2 assists per game, and ends her career ranked ninth in school history with 244 assists.

West Chester (19-8, 11-3) scored seven of the last nine points in the first half to take a 37-30 lead into the locker room. ESU held its final lead of the game, 26-25, with five minutes left in the half following a pair of free throws by Cahill that capped a 6-0 run.

The Warriors narrowed the margin to 41-36 early in the second half as Yandrisevits scored four straight points and Cahill had a layup, but Megan Stewart hit a three-pointer a minute later and West Chester led by at least eight the rest of the way. Stewart was one of four West Chester players in double figures with 11 points.

Yandrisevits is ranked in ESU's career top 10 in 11 of 13 categories and will graduate with school records for points and career three-point percentage (39.1). She is second with 659 field goals, third with 403 free throws, and sixth with 718 rebounds. She is also fourth in blocks (96) and fifth in steals (184), and joins Tonia Lloyd as the only players in the top 10 in scoring, rebounding, blocks and steals.

She recorded her 31st career 20-point game and 15th of the season on Saturday and ended her career with 40 consecutive games with at least 10 points. She was in double figures in 94 of her 111 games as a Warrior.

Cahill and Yandrisevits helped ESU to 65 wins, one of the top four-year stretches in program history, and made three PSAC playoff appearances during their careers.
