Box Score

MILLERSVILLE - Kari Cover scored 15 points off the bench to help Millersville's women's basketball team stay perfect in the PSAC East with a 72-64 win over East Stroudsburg University on Saturday afternoon.

Junior guard Jackie Yandrisevits and freshman guard Kristen Murray both scored 14 points for the Warriors.

Millersville (16-4, 5-0) used a 12-0 run to pull away from an 11-11 tie five minutes into the game, and held a 33-28 halftime lead. ESU (8-11, 2-3) cut the deficit to three after a pair of free throws by Yandrisevits on the first possession the second half before Millersville scored the next seven points to go ahead 40-30.

The Marauders build a 15-point lead with seven minutes to go, and the Warriors used a late run to cut a 67-51 deficit with 2:56 remaining to the final margin of eight points.

Neither team was particularly effective from the field, as ESU held Millersville to 36.8 percent shooting, but the Marauders were 27-of-48 at the line as the two teams combined for 80 free throws. All five ESU starters finished the game with four fouls, and Murray fouled out with 26 seconds left.

Gladine St. Julien did all of her scoring at the foul line, going 10-for-14, and Jenna Craig (14 points) and Jenna Philo (10) gave Millersville four double-figure scorers.

Yandrisevits (8-10), Murray (6-7) and sophomore guard DeAnna Rayam (6-8) helped ESU to a 25-of-32 effort at the foul line.

Rayam joined Yandrisevits and Murray in double figures with 12 points. Senior forward Monika Fogelsanger had a season-high 11 rebounds and scored nine points.

The Warriors will look to shake their three-game losing streak when they host Kutztown on Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Girl Scouts and female athletes ages 12 and under who are wearing their uniforms will be admitted to the game for free as part of ESU's "Take a Girl to the Game" promotion in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day across the country.
