EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior guard Jackie Yandrisevits scored a season-high 17 points to lead East Stroudsburg University to a 68-50 win over Dowling College on the second night of the 43rd Annual ESU Basketball Tournament on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

Sophomore guard DeAnna Rayam scored 14 points and freshman guard Kristen Murray had 13 points and was named the tournament's MVP after posting 20 points, six rebounds and five assists in ESU's 65-64 win over Seton Hill on Friday. Murray made the game-winning free throws with five seconds left to beat the Griffins.

Yandrisevits is also a member of the All-Tournament team and is joined by Lauren Beckley and Megan Fogle on Shippensburg, Katie Lintner of Seton Hill and Nikkeia Daniels of Dowling.

ESU started slowly against Dowling and trailed 17-11 at the halfway point of the first half. The Warriors finally captured their first lead of the game when Rayam hit a three-pointer with 1:45 left in the half, and ESU closed the half with a 13-3 spurt to take a 31-25 lead into the locker room.

Murray scored eight points as ESU outscored Dowling 15-4 to start the second half to take a 46-29 lead.

The Warriors put the game away with a 10-0 run over a three-minute stretch, sparked by seven points from Yandrisevits, and led 56-34 with 10 minutes to go.

ESU has won three of its last four games after starting the season with three losses by a total of six points.

The Warriors will be back in action on Dec. 18 and 19, hosting PSAC West opponents Edinboro and Slippery Rock on consecutive nights to close the 2007 portion of their schedule.
