The spectacular newly renovated outdoor track at ESU's Eiler-Martin Stadium was officially dedicated on Saturday, November 5, 2006 during halftime festivities of the Warriors home football game against Mansfield University. Eiler-Martin Stadium continues to be home to ESU's intercollegiate football, soccer, and track and field teams, in addition to other activities.
Improvements to the track were comprehensive. The former track was removed and replaced with a new larger 400-meter track with a synthetic surface. It now also accommodates all associated jump events. Construction included associated facilities such as pavements, storm drainage, retaining walls, fencing, and lawns; the relocation of existing visitors' bleachers; the removal and reinstallation of existing electrical and signal cable and devices; and the installation of underground ducts and devices for future use. The renovation also features the installation of new and under-field electrical conduits which will accommodate future plans to install lighting.
The $867,000 project was made possible with funding from: the East Stroudsburg Savings Association (ESSA) Foundation, The ESU Alumni Association, The ESU Student Activities Association (Student Government) and ESU's Office of Conference Services.
