EDINBORO - East Stroudsburg University senior Mark Smith, wrestling unattached, won the 157-pound weight class of the Edinboro Open, his first tournament championship.

Smith beat Levi Dunn of The Citadel 11-5 in the finals after pinning Zack Strunk of Central Michigan in 1:11 in the semifinals. Smith had a bye in the first round, pinned Jake Overdorff of Slippery Rock in the second round and edged Chris Wade of Binghamton 10-8 in the quarterfinals.

Smith, who now has a career record of 98-39, has 13 falls on the season. ESU, 10-7, will wrestle at American Friday at 7 p.m.
