EAST STROUDSBURG - Redshirt senior wrestler Matt Swallow has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after winning all three of his matches at 133 pounds during a 2-0-1 week for the Warriors.

Swallow (Milton/Milton) surrendered just four points in posting his three victories, including two major decisions. He improved to 16-9 on the season and 9-4 in duals, and leads the Warriors with 59 career wins.

Swallow opened the week with a 10-1 major decision over Sean Reed of Millersville in ESU's 27-9 dual victory, avenging a 4-2 loss to Reed at the ESU Open.

He won an 8-1 decision against Army's Connor McCarthy as the Warriors tied the Black Knights, 15-15, on Friday night and highlighted ESU's 19-12 win at Boston University on Sunday with a 10-2 major decision for the only bonus points of the afternoon.

Swallow and the Warriors have three duals left, on Friday night vs. Bucknell and Sunday afternoon against Wagner and Delaware State, all at Koehler Fieldhouse. ESU is 5-3-1 over the last month.

ABC Trophy, Inc. awards an athlete of the week to an outstanding student-athlete each week at ESU. Each recipient is presented with a red and silver plaque.
