EAST STROUDSBURG – The 43rd annual East Stroudsburg University Open Wrestling Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Koehler Fieldhouse. One of the oldest open wrestling tournaments in the nation, the ESU Open annually attracts top talent from around the country.
April 29 ESU Receives Waiver from NCAA for Division II Championship Eligibility
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University has been notified by the NCAA that the Division II Membership Committee has granted the university's request to waive the two-year reclassification process for its wrestling program, which will become eligible for Division II championships selection effective September 1, 2009.

Juniors Chris Birchler, Shane Mallory and senior Matt Swallow all return for the 2008-09 Warriors, along with redshirt senior Scott Heckman, who was the PSAC champion at 149 pounds two years ago before missing most of last season due to injury.

July 15 ESU Announces Athletic Department Restructuring for 2009-10
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University will restructure the varsity athletics status of its wrestling and men's volleyball programs effective with the start of the 2009-10 academic year. The wrestling program will be reclassified to compete at the NCAA Division II level, and the men's volleyball program will compete at the club level.
