Warriors Wrestling Falls 22-11 at Drexel in 2008-09 Dual Opener
PHILADELPHIA - Shane Mallory, Chris Birchler and Matt Swallow won their matches to give East Stroudsburg University an early 11-4 lead, but Drexel rallied to win the final six bouts to give head coach Jack Childs his 396th career victory in the dual match opener for both schools on Tuesday night.

Birchler Takes Second for Warriors at 42nd Annual ESU Open
EAST STROUDSBURG - Junior Chris Birchler finished second at 285 pounds and redshirt senior Matt Swallow made the quarterfinals at 133 as East Stroudsburg University hosted the 42nd Annual ESU Open on Saturday at Koehler Fieldhouse.

ESU Wrestling 2008-09 Season Outlook
EAST STROUDSBURG - Entering his second season as the head wrestling coach at East Stroudsburg University, Joey Rivera feels he has his program going in the right direction. Juniors Chris Birchler, Shane Mallory and senior Matt Swallow all return for the 2008-09 Warriors, along with redshirt senior Scott Heckman, who was the PSAC champion at 149 pounds two years ago before missing most of last season due to injury.

EAST STROUDSBURG - The 42nd annual East Stroudsburg University Open Wrestling Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Koehler Fieldhouse. ESU Announces Athletic Department Restructuring for 2009-10
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University will restructure the varsity athletics status of its wrestling and men's volleyball programs effective with the start of the 2009-10 academic year. The wrestling program will be reclassified to compete at the NCAA Division II level, and the men's volleyball program will compete at the club level.

Carr, Taibi Land Spots on ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Team
EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University senior wrestler Sean Carr and junior tennis player Julian Taibi have both earned a place on the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Men's At-Large second team, which was announced Thursday.

Williams Wins Consolation Match, Places Sixth for Warriors at EIWA Championships
LANCASTER - Senior Dave Williams pinned No. 3 seed Nick Sommerfeld from Columbia eight seconds into the third period in his first consolation match on Sunday and finished sixth in the 197-pound bracket at the EIWA Championships at Franklin & Marshall.
