LEWISBURG - Senior Dave Williams (197) had the fifth pin in his last six matches and sophomore Chris Birchler (285) improved to 21-7 on the season for the Warriors' two wins as Bucknell defeated ESU 28-9 in an EIWA dual on Friday night at Davis Gym.

Williams won his fifth straight match and the fourth by fall since moving up to 197 pounds with a pin of Charlie Wonsettler 14 seconds into the second period. Williams started the period with a 4-1 advantage and was down, but got a reversal and the pin came seconds later.

Birchler took a 9-3 decision over George Hinson at 285 and is 9-4 in duals this year.

The match started at 165 with a major decision by Bucknell's Andy Rendos, ranked No. 19 by Intermat, over Joe Schick. The Bison also won decisions at 174 and 184 to take a 10-0 lead before the Warriors pulled within 10-9 after the 285-pound bout.

Bucknell also had a major decision at 125 as Greg Hart defeated Matthew Benedetti 12-4.

Three of the final four bouts were very competitive, including an overtime contest at 141. Bucknell's Luke Chohany rode out Sean Carr in the third period to tie the bout at 4-4, and had a takedown 30 seconds into overtime to win 6-4.

At 133, No. 18 David Marble took a 9-6 decision over ESU's Matt Swallow, who was a state qualifier at nearby Milton High School.

Kevin LeValley won by technical fall for Bucknell at 149, and Brantley Hooks ended the night for the Bison with a 6-4 decision against Kyle Heselpoth.

ESU will return to action on Sunday with Senior Day festivities at 1 p.m. against Boston University, the alma mater of ESU head coach Joey Rivera.
