Charlie Brenneman has joined the East Stroudsburg University wrestling staff as a graduate assistant for the 2007-08 season.

Brenneman is a 2004 graduate of Lock Haven University, where he went 35-11 at 174 pounds as a senior and reached the round of 12 at the NCAA Division I championships. He was named to the Academic All-America team and graduated with a 3.985 grade-point average, the highest in the nation among those who received Academic All-America recognition.

A 2000 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School, Brenneman finished his scholastic career with a record of 116-13 and was a two-time state runner up in Pennsylvania.

Brenneman has received national exposure in two arenas since graduating from Lock Haven. He was a winner on the reality television show "Pros vs. Joes" in which he competed with his brother Ben, an ESU alum. In the series finale, he wrestled former Atlanta Braves relief pitcher John Rocker off the mound to win his competition.

Brenneman is also competing in Mixed Martial Arts and is currently undefeated through his first nine bouts, five as an amateur and four as a professional.

Brenneman will assist interim head coach Joey Rivera with the upper weights, as well as handle assigned recruiting and administrative responsibilities.
