EAST STROUDSBURG - East Stroudsburg University sophomore Jon Daley (Sinking Springs/Wilson High School) was named to the 2006 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association All-East second team, it was announced.

Daley, a 6-foot-6 middle hitter, is the first ESU player named All-EIVA since 1996 when Ryan Olszewski and Chris Rudisill were named to the first team and Terry Hutchinson and Chris Makos were chosen to the second team.

Daley played an instrumental role as the Warriors won the EIVA Hay Division and advanced to the playoffs. The Warriors went 10-2 in conference play and finished the season 16-8 after losing to Juniata in the first round of the playoffs.

Daley played in 88 games and had a team-best 336 kills, an average of 3.82 a game. He also had a team-high 33 aces to go with 51 digs and three assists.

Last week, setter Adam Holdredge was named to the EIVA All-Academic team.

Next season, ESU will compete in the EIVA Tait Division and will have home and away conference matches with Penn State, George Mason, St. Francis, Princeton, Juniata and Rutgers-Newark.
