EAST STROUDSBURG - The East Stroudsburg University men's volleyball team advanced to the second round of the EIVA Playoffs with a 3-2 win over NJIT on Wednesday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Warriors, the No. 6 seed in the tournament, will play at No. 3 seed George Mason on Saturday. The winner will meet No. 2 St. Francis (Pa.), which has a bye into the semifinals. Penn State is the No. 1 seed in the eight-team field.

Jon Daley led ESU with 15 kills, while Keith Eckenrode had 12 and Justin Allcock had 11. Setter Adam Holdredge assisted on 46 of the Warriors' 57 kills. ESU hit .221 as a team, while NJIT had a .241 attack percentage.

ESU won the first and third games 30-27, but the Highlanders rallied back with a 31-29 win in the second game and a 30-22 win in the fourth game to force the decisive game five. The Warriors fell behind 3-0 early but regrouped, and eventually posted a 15-11 win for the victory.

Leonardo Paludo had 22 kills, while Amobi Armstrong and Eduardo Welter had 15 each for NJIT. Rodrigo Correa handed out 60 assists.
