EAST STROUDSBURG – Seniors Jon Daley and Jeff Quinn combined for 12 block assists to lead the Warriors’ defensive clinic in East Stroudsburg University’s three-game win over SUNY New Paltz on Friday night at Koehler Fieldhouse.

The Warriors (6-7) combined for 15.5 total blocks in three games to defeat the Hawks (30-22, 30-21, 30-26). Sophomore Josh Hobson aided in the defensive effort with a team-high seven digs and eight different players had at least two block assists.

On offense, Daley and junior Chris Holden both generated nine of the team’s 49 kills. Junior Don Hanna, the reigning EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week, added eight kills and ESU hit .283 on the night.

Freshman Levi Kauffman and Hobson shared the responsibility of leading the Warriors’ attack. Kauffman had 16 assists before Hobson entered early in the second game and recorded 23 assists in the match.

Kevin Stross had eight kills and both Jake Moore and Daniel Liberto both recorded six kills for SUNY New Paltz (21-12).

The Warriors continue their four-game stretch of non-conference action this Sunday at Koehler Fieldhouse as they take on Mount Olive (N.C.) at 2 p.m.
