EAST STROUDSBURG - Senior men's volleyball player Jon Daley has been named the ABC Trophy, Inc. Athlete of the Week at East Stroudsburg University after going over 1,000 kills for his career last weekend in New England.

Daley (Sinking Springs/Wilson) had 22 kills in a five-set loss at Harvard on Saturday to become the fourth ESU player to reach 1,000 career kills since 1991. He contributed four kills in the Warriors' 3-0 win at Springfield on Friday.

A two-time All-EIVA selection at middle hitter, Daley moved to the outside this year after missing the 2008 season with a medical redshirt. He leads ESU with 79 kills (4.2 per game) through the first five matches and also has a team-high 18 blocks.

Daley is second in school history with 334 career blocks and is three aces away from tying the school record of 99 in that category.

The Warriors open their 11-match home schedule on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. as they host Rutgers-Newark in an EIVA Hay Division contest.
